Simon Haddock

I have a wide range of experience and qualifications including the following ...

I trained for three years at Askham Bryan College at York (Higher National Diploma in Landscape and Horticulture Technology) and have a lifetimes experience in the gardening business having worked in many interesting positions.

After leaving college I was involved in the innovative planting schemes at Milton Keynes with special involvement in the exotic, semi tropical, under glass displays of CMK Buildings.

I then became Head Gardener for John Brookes, the well known gardening author and owner of the prestigious Denmans Gardens in West Sussex.

For some years I was the manager of a country centre, which specialised in training and employing people with learning disabilities within a horticultural nursery setting

I subsequently ran my own Landscape Contracting business for many years and one of the most satisfying aspects of my work was finding elegant and inexpensive ways to give my clients the gardens they wanted.

Some of you may know my woodland garden 'The Mill' at Eyton, near Leominster which has been visited by many people under the National Garden Scheme and is currently being refurbished.

My particular areas of interest are shrubs and herbacious perennials, hard and soft landscaping design and techniques, and trees.

Almost all the photos that you see on the web site feature my plants and garden in Herefordshire.
